ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A local residential development is offering a new public amenity in Escambia County.
“The 52 World” is described as a livable, walkable community, offering many amenities that are open to the public. One of them is a new outdoor living art museum.
Across from Navy Federal, “The 52 World” sits on 52 acres of housing, nature, and other amenities — many for the public.
“We have walking trails, we have lakes, we have nature preserves,” said Tamara Bowens, president and COO of the Dawson Company. “We have a two-story gym, we have two clubhouses.”
They’re adding even more– including a grocery store and a Montessori school for newborns to age 5 that is still under construction.
“I know there’s a huge shortage of daycare options for the greater Pensacola area, but this one is coming and should be online in the spring of 2025,” Bowens said.
The project just opened an outdoor living art museum that anyone can enjoy.
“I definitely encourage people to come out and see the art because it is absolutely fantastic,” Bowens said.
“They can come on any day — come on the grounds and see the art,” she added. “At night it’s lit up beautifully, so you can even come at night and peruse and see what’s here at The 52.”
The Dawson Company is the developer for “The 52 World,” the Southtowne Apartments, and other major developments in our area.
This is the same company that is hoping to bring a new housing development at Community Maritime Park. Phase 1 of that development includes a hotel, apartments, and a parking structure.
But Bowens says the ultimate plan, if approved, will have many of the same amenities “The 52 World” does.
“Yes we will develop it out very similar to this,” Bowens said. “We really want Maritime Park to be something special for the community and be an economic engine for downtown.”
The company will have it’s final presentation for the new development at the city council meeting next Thursday. There, the council is expected to vote on the project.
“The 52 World” is also offering guided tours of the living art museum every third Thursday of the month.
