Michael Wilding moved to Santa Fe 29 years ago to pursue a career as a stone sculpture, focusing mainly on abstract forms. 

 

His interest in carving stone began with a fascination for its unique approach finding something within the stone by removing extraneous material. Upon arriving in New Mexico, Wilding found the high desert landscape profoundly influencing his work, shaping his artistic vision and technique.
